Don't mix the breast milk with the formula in the same bottle at all. The formula changes the composition of the breast milk, so your LO will not get the proper nutrition from it. Instead of mixing it together in a bottle, rather nurse and then supplement with formula (or give 2 separate bottles). If you are trying to wean your LO, you can start substituting a whole feeding with formula. Your body will learn in a few days to skip that feeding and will not produce milk around that time each day.

I would personally start with a higher portion of breastmilk (I assume you're switching from breastmilk to formula?)
The two taste a lot different and are differently digested by the system. Starting with more like a 20/80 or even a 10/90 ratio will allow the transition to be easier.
That being said, I don't think a 50/50 mix is going to harm your child in any way. You may have some problems with constipation or a dislike of the taste, but other than that, you should be fine :)
