Mommies, what do you take for a cold?

I think my daughter gave me her cold! Darn kids! haha. I just have the sniffles and a sore throat, but it just started yesterday. I am all of a sudden EXTREMELY exhausted and my hubby thinks my sleep deprivation has just caught up to me (I get about 4-6hrs of sleep a night, not because of baby, but I just can't fall asleep) I don't want it to kick me in the butt on Christmas! I am breastfeeding my 6mo. I know I can call the pharmacist or the pediatrician, but I was wondering what you mommies do for yourself in this situation aside from medication unless there is some miracle medication that is safe while breastfeeding.

Thanks! :)

You can take Tylenol or Motrin for the sore throat, and I find steam works well for the nasal congestion (a hot shower is the easiest way). One time I had a cold, the pediatrician told me my best bet was Claritin, that it might help dry up the congestion a bit and is safe for breastfeeding, but it didn't work for me. I hope you feel better.

I have either a bad cold or the flu. Honestly, there isn't much you can take. I use a netti pot 2-3x a day which really helps and drink lots of mighty mango naked juice.
