I am pumping at work and have been able to keep up with my son's feedings for day care. I can only pump 4 times a day at work for 10 minutes, therefore only getting 2 oz per pumping session. I can get between 3 and 4 bottles/day. That has been plenty enough so far, but I've only been sending 4-oz bottles to day care. He has recently started to not be completely satiated with 4 oz/time when feeding from the bottle, which leads me to believe that he is getting more than 4 oz from my body when he nurses due to him not being fussy for more when he's done. I would like to start sending 5-oz bottles, but won't be able to produce enough bottles/day due to my limited time frame to pump at work to keep up with day care. I have read that Mother's milk tea and/or a milk increasing suppliment should help me to produce more, but have also read that drinking/taking it may cause me to mensturate. Does anyone know what side effects I or my son might get if I drink/take mother's milk supplimentation?

Healthy nursing tea has been great maintaining my supply. Our family all caught head colds and I noticed a decrease in my milk supply. I quickly started introducing this tea into my daily routine and within 24 hours saw an increase in my milk supply.

I TOOK MOTHERS MILK I DIDNT PRODUCE AS MUCH AS YOU DID I GOT LUCKY IF I PUMPED 1 1/2OZ WITHIN A 20MIN PERIOD, I DIDNT GET ANY SIDE EFFECTS BUT YET HAVING MY DAUGHTER LATCHED ON MORE OFTEN HELPED A LOT BETTER BUT I AM A STAY AT HOME MOM. I SAY YOU TRY IT ITS ALL NATURAL AND NO SIDE EFFECTS OTHER THAN PRODUCING MORE MILK IF NOT FENUGREEK VITAMINS MIGHT WORK ALSO THAT ONE JUST MAKES U SMELL LIKE MAPLE SYRUP :) I SAY GIVE THE TEA A SHOT ALSO HEARD YOU CAN MIX FORMULA WITH BREAST MILK BUT I DON'T KNOW IF YOU WANT TO PURELY BREASTFEED. TRY IT AND LET ME KNOW IF IT WORKED OUT FOR YOU

I drink mothers milk tea and also take fenugreek. It has been helping me with no side effects other than I smell like maple syrup from the fenugreek. I did not read about it possibly causing a menstruation but that may answer why I myself have been on and off menstruating (it could very well just be me lol). The possible side effects seem to be minimal and are all worth it for the LO.
