I'm so sorry, just seeing this!!

What was her LOWEST weight?? Breastfed babies usually gain about 1 lb per month and she's exceeded that! I wouldn't stress out at all. Sounds like you're doing great!

Here's a great article called "Look at the Baby, not the scale"

This weight gain is amazing!!!!I would not listen to that dr or just confront him with questions.
Babies gain around 1 lbs a month at the beginning, some less than that, but as long as they are gaining they are perfectly fine. You said that she is meeting milstoned, so it looks like everything is perfectly ok.
When my dr on the day 3rd after my daughter being born asked me to supplement (she lost a full lb from the birth weight) I told her that I will not, because I do not want to disrupt my milk production, my milk was not fully in yet on that third day. I said that if she will not gain weight by the next visit I willl consider it. I didn't have to....
Be very vocal and ask him WHY, he has no reason to prescribe formula. You are doing great and your baby is doing great. www.kellymom.com has great resources, check it out

Yes, stick with it and try to avoid supplimenting if your baby is well and gaining! Just bf on demand. It isn't always easy at first but definitely gets easier. It is so worth it. You need a supportive doctor so I'm glad you found one :)

So glad you got another opinion!!. Keep on doing what you're doing! No need to supplement!

Thank u for your encouraging response. Turns out we had dr appt 2 days ago and she gained another pound and a half in 4 weeks. I actually saw a different doctor, and bombarded him with questions. He had a very different opinion than the other guy and said she's doing great. I just want to do the best for her, and I'm ok supplementing if I need to. I just felt very unsupported and confused by the other pediatrician, and I'm learning I need to be a little stronger in having a voice when it comes to breastfeeding my daughter.
