My daughter does the same thing. She will actually also pull, twist or even pinch my other nipple (which is pretty painful at times), while nursing! I think is their way of being reassured that are safe and a way they can relax. They are learning how to deal with their senses so it is very normal.

@leasha I cant really figure it out why but this does resemble what happened to me a couple of weeks ago, I went to go visit my aunt and we were all going to disneyland, her, her 3 year old son, and I. It was a long drive. I was sitting in the back bonding with him when he started rubbing my ear! My aunt told me that is his way of going to sleep, it was his little niche. I think your son rubs your breast because its his little niche while he is feeding, like how my own 7 year old likes to bite on his blankets...
