Need to know if this is normal

Hi, I'm only 17 and 18 weeks pregnant. I want to breast feed my baby and I'm not sure if I will be lactating by the time the little one arrives. I've gotten slight pain in both of my breats but not really much growth in either of them. Does this mean I won't be able to breast feed?

Not at all, your breasts won't do much but get bigger over the pregnancy. The final few weeks you may be able to express a few drops of colostrum. It is clear yellowish and sticky. Your milk may not arrive for up to five days after delivery. Baby can live on the colostrum alone, it is very rich and dense in calories and a half an ounce will fill baby's tummy. No worries. Your body will do exactly what it is supposed to do. Find a breastfeeding class and make friends with the teacher. You will save a fortune and do your baby a great service by breastfeeding.
