It comes pretty naturally. Don't be afraid! Ask for help at the hospital.

If you can get/push past the initial first 2wks or month you will not regret it! Good luck!

Great to hear! Call your local clinic and see if there are any lactation specialist in your area to get some good and advice before your LO is born. Also the nurses at the hospital are there to help, so have them in the room the first time and any time you need their help while at the hospital. Hope this helps any!

Kudos to you. It DOES create a pretty close & strong bond. I've nursed my son for over 28 months now and wouldn't trade the bond it has created between us for anything in the world. It's not only good for the baby but good for mommy as well. I know that when I would nurse him after a long, hectic day, that it just totally relaxed me & all the stress would just melt away holding him, watching him nurse. I believe the nursing also releases some sort of "happy endorphens" too. Gotta love the technical lingo there. ;o)

Just be patient, it is hard...you have to get to know one another and learn together. It took me a good couple weeks to feel really comfortable with it. I am a "feed when they want" person, so whenever he is looking for it, I am there. (he is 8 weeks now) and we are settling into a routine of sorts.

Ask for help if you need it, I asked everyone everything and more than once.
