Nursing vs solids

ok, my 6 month old is changing his feeding habits. He seems to be nursing for less time in the morning, but doing great with bottles during the day and veggies & cereal at lunch. He takes his last bottle at day care around 3pm and then when we get home we eat veggies & cereal again, but he has been less interested in nursing and won't nurse again until before bed. I know that the main source of nutrition should be the breastmilk and that solids are more for just practice, so should I take out the solids at dinner and have him nurse instead? thoughts??

Always nurse before solids and I would remove some solids. You definitely want his main source of nutrition to be breast milk for the first year (like you said). See if removing the dinner helps. Don't worry so much about him having a certain number of "meals."

I agree with Sara and Kathy. You're right, nursing is their main source of nutrition. Always nurse before solids. If you want, I'd go ahead and cut out that dinner solids and see if that will help.

I agree with Sara. ALWAYS breastfeed before solids, and maybe cut down a bit on the solids. Maybe just smaller "servings."

I dont think so as long as he is drinking breastmilk three times a day it should be fine.
