Yeah all my babies had lovely sweet smelling breath and were breastfed til they were 21 months old. :-)

I, too, always am smelling my baby's breath cause I think it smells good! Just a word of caution though. Sweet smelling breath is a sign of Type 1 Diabetes. My oldest is diabetic and that was one of the warning signs. You probably don't have much to worry about as long as baby is gaining weight and not vomiting excessively or anything. If you have concerns, I would see your doc.

Other warning signs (hard to see in an infant) would be excessive thirst and excessive urination.

What's funny is I've found myself saying this the past few weeks! I just love the smell of my daughter's breathe as welk. Definitely the breastmilk :-) I'm going to enjoy it while I can lol

Perfectly normal! My son's breath is sweet, too - it's from your milk. That's what the nurse told me when we were in the hospital. I love the way it smells. :) I guess that's why that sweet-smelling flower is called baby's breath. :)

I've noticed that formula-fed babies not only have stinkier poo but stinkier breath. :/

lol Crazy to say, and I won't tell anyone in my family or friends, but i love my daughters breath, lol unless she's just vomited of course, hahaha. But yeah, it smells a little sweet. Too sweet, like sugary sweet and it may be diabetes, so be careful.

Breastmilk is sweet so that's probably why. I think my daughter's breath always smells like breastmilk.

I'm not sure either, but I know breastmilk is sweet and my son's breath always smelled good to me if anything. Like Nahla said, never noticed a specific smell though.
