OMG I have to leave me 4 week old breastfed baby. Help please!

It was a struggle leaving the hospital with my baby because I was told to supplement her with formula and/or breast milk (a bottle was introduced right from the beginning). Now she is four weeks and this week was the first week we did not use any bottles for her. I am so proud of her progress, but now I am going back to work next week. Not only that, but I am having to go out of town for work the day after she turns five weeks old. I will be gone for four days. I will be able to breast-feed her the day that I leave and breast-feed her the day that I come back so I guess it will be two full days where she is not breast-fed and two half days where she is breast-fed and using a bottle. Is it possible to continue breast-feeding her when I come back? I am hurting at the thought of her not being able to latch on after I come back from my trip. Any thoughts?

It is VERY possible for her to continue to breast feed when you return. The thing that will help you the most is for you to pump regularly while you're gone. If you can save that milk and bring it back with you great!!!! But even if you have to pump and dump, by pumping you will be keeping your supply up. Plus… if you don't pump you're very likely to become very uncomfortable and engorged.

To keep your supply up while you're working, you'll also need to pump regularly. The more frequent the better (though it's not always easy to find time every 2 hours when working…. it's good for your supply if you can).
