I am a SAHM nursing a one month old. I don't leave my son often, but I would like a decent milk supply for the times that I do in the future. Right now I pump after the first feeding in the morning and after the last feeding at night. I am averaging about 3 ounces TOTAL a day between the two pumping sessions. I am wondering if I can get some advice on how to pump more milk in a day. Should I pump more often throughout the day? I have to pump after I nurse my son because I can't skip feedings.

Also, am I pumping correctly? I have a Medela pump. After the first letdown suction and I am no longer producing milk, then I stop. This takes about 5 minutes. Should I start over and see if I can get more milk?
