It is not advisable. I made that mistake and it took so much hard work not to lose my milk entirely! Try to express your milk or pump it and give that instead. Good luck!

it is possible, different reasons for doing so I guess but it can muck around with your supply esp in the early stages while it's still trying to sort itself out. many of my friends had to supp bf with formula as bub wasn't getting enough from them in the early days, some had to continue with the supp feeds whereas others really worked to get their supply up & then could stop the supp feeds.

Yes:) I did both my son had jaundice so he needed the extra fluid and my daughter didnt latch well so after a half hour on each side id give her formula.

yes you can use both. just make sure your supply is established first. and as others have said, breastfeeding is supply and demand. so if you give too many bottles of formula your supply will start to decrease. but I had my son taking a bottle of formula at night for a while so his dad could feed him and I could get some rest. it made my breasts get so swollen when I woke up though, so once he started sleeping longer stretches I switched back to exclusively breastfeeding. He still has an occasional bottle though if I need someone else to watch him and don't have time to pump.

You can but it's a slippery slope. It depends on what you're using it for. Using formula can cause issues with supply..

Yes but it can hurt your milk supply especially in the beginning...but if you are very careful to give him formula the same time every day/night then your body should adjust.

Why are you wanting to use formula? I can give a little more specific advice if I know what your planning...give daddy a night feeding, while working, or the occasional bottle while you go out with the girls? Your welcome to PM me.

Yup!!!! Just try and always give the same feedings in the same way. Supplementing can be a slippery slope if you use it too often, but you will make as much milk as your baby eats, so if you want your bedtime feeding and your wakeup feeding and refuse to give formula for them, you will keep them. I use fenugreek and mother's milk tea when I feel like my supply is getting too low. Any breastmilk you give your baby is beneficial, so doing what you can to keep at least some nursing going is great!!!
