Randomly not getting a period while breastfeeding?

I haven't received my period this month but have had all the symptoms. Took 7 tests and all came out negative. I heard that while breastfeeding you may get a period one month and not the next. Anyone have any input or similarities?

My son is nealry 9 months. I have had a few periods, but they are all over the place. I have had 4 weeks, 5 weeks and 6 1/2 weeks between periods.......not good seeing as we are trying for another baby!! I am only nursing 3 times a day now (son is self weaning) so no reason why I cannot get pregnant according to my gp.

I had my baby in November so she's already 9 months. I only get my period like everyother or every two months. I went to the doctor and she told me everything was fine and there was nothing to worry about.

thank you everyone for your input. it's nice to know there's others out there. It's hard when i don't know anyone personally around here who breastfeeds besides my own mother. I am going to the doctor today for other stuff but I will probably get a pregnancy test done just to check.

My son is 13months and i still have not had a period. The longest i went prior to this time was 10months with my others (i have 6 angels) was always about 7 months. I get regular 'period attitude' every 28 days but still none. I breast feed my son during the night (not for long periods) During the day he has three feeds -usually as a sleep inducing tool :) But i have never had my period then had it stop once started whilst breastfeeding, however stress, not eating well etc can effect hormones! ( now i am concerned!)

i havent had a period since my daughter was born and she's 6 months now...im pretty sure the hormones you produce while you (exclusively) breast feed, stop you getting pregnant because your body think oh i already have one to look after i dont need another yet, and if you cant get pregnant, no period! yay!

I had my son back in March and he is 5 1/2 months old. I have had my period twice and they were normal. I have been extra stressed this month and he has of course started to eat more. I don't feel pregnant and like I said have taken mulitple tests all coming out negative.

Yes this is true. Some women might get a couple and then not for a few months. How regular is your period and how often do you breastfeed? If it has been very regular for some time now I would probably go to the doctor and get a blood test done just in case.
