need advice on trying to return to BF. for medical reasons i had to bottle feed expressed milk which was fine. now my baby girl is better and I would like to nurse again and cut back on pumping. she was about 6 weeks when I had to start the bottle and now she is 4.5 months on expressed bottle. she is refusing the breast now. Is it too late? I had always dreamed of nursing my babies and i feel crushed and loosing hope.

I've heard plenty of stories of babies going back to breastfeeding after only taking a bottle. Some as old as 8 or 9 months. So as Sarah said.. Keep Trying. Here's a link from Kelly Mom on some suggestions to try while trying to get baby back to the breast.

Keep trying, especially when she is hungry but not starved and you are really full. If you can get her to latch and your milk flows quickly she may keep at it enough for you two to establish a nursing relationship. Maybe enough for comfort at naps and bedtime?
If you can't get her there, you can still snuggle her by your breast and offer her the bottle of your milk. Every drop you pumped for her is a huge gift! Try to enjoy your daughter and not be hard on yourself. Breastfeeding is a learned art, and baby just did not get to keep at it, this is no one's fault.
