Start of self weaning? Please NO!

My little lady is 7 months old, and the last 3 days I've noticed she has been nursing less and less...she already was a short nurser, 8-10 minutes max, then would come back in 3-4 hours. lately its been somewhere along the lines of 3-4 minutes and when I offer her the breast again she laughed and starts playing with it.
She was diagnosed yesterday with an inner ear infection after being taken to the hospital with a 103.5 fever...could that be part of her latest refusal of me? I'm worried she is self weaning, I'm totally not ready for the breastfeeding to be over...I'm trying not to spazz lol, I just need some reassurance that it's just the ear infection.
Side note- she took bottles of formula for daddy, just fine during her whole ER ordeal, but as soon as I got in, she sucked for 2 minutes * i watched the clock* and fussed until she was with daddy, slept the whole night *which is odd* and at 5 only nursed for 4 minutes.

at that age i would think it is what is refereed to as a nursing "strike" she doesn't feel good. keep offering it will pass and before you know it she will be back to nursing in full swing. personally i would limit the bottles she needs the breast milk to help heal.

sucking from a bottle is a total different mechanic and easier than sucking from breast. it is most likely due to the ear infection. she is probably uncomfortable nursing, and given she is not feeling well overall , she probably doesnt have much of an appetite. just keep offering the breast for every feeding first, and if she wont nurse or only nurses for a very short time, offer her some expressed milk in a bottle ?

I've heard that nursing while the baby has an ear infection can cause radiating pain in the jaw and ear. That could be your problem. Keep trying.
