This is going to sound very selfish. My little boy is 7mnths, he's exclusively bf, he will take water from a cup, but isnt great taking milk. I really want to go out for my friends birthday. i've recently split with my husband and could really do with just a few hours off, to be me. i think the reason he wont take milk from a cup from me, is because he knows ive got it. do you think if i was to leave him with my dad, he would feed from the cup, if he realises im not there?
this is going to sound awful, but as much as i am so proud of us both for breastfeeding for this length of time, a little bit of me is starting to recent breastfeeding!

Hugs...

Why would he drink from a cup if he has you there? :) My daughter won't either (21 months old!), but is fine when I'm not there. I'd nurse right before you leave, leave milk with a bottle/cup, and plan on nursing as soon as you get home. If you're only gone for a short while (3-4 hours), he may not even need any milk, although I'd leave some.
