Trying to get 11 month old to take milk in sippy cup and she's now refusing to breastfeed?

My daughter is 11 months and has never really had a bottle. She successfully breastfed from the start and we moved interstate when she was a few months old so have never left her with family or a babysitter.
I am returning to work 3 days a week next week and have been trying to get her used to having milk in a sippy cup for over a month, which she has not taken to.
She has been having 3 breastfeeds a day and last week I dropped the afternoon feed, replacing it with the cup. I was planning to keep up the morning and night ones when I return to work. Some days she would drink 50-100ml from the cup, others nothing.
The last few days she has been rejecting the breast. Sometimes she has a few sucks and then pushes away, other times she won't even attach.
I don't know if she is self-weaning, or just confused about the different sucking???
She has a different style of sippy cup for water which she drinks from, but not a great deal. She eats any food offered in good quantities.
Should I persist with the breast or the cup or both???

Keep persisting with both, if that's what you want to do. For me, my daughter, now 20 mos, went thru a stage where she stopped drinking milk at her daycare, but kept asking for milk. She apparently wanted to nurse instead of having milk in her cups. I wanted a little late to switch her from a bottle to a sippy cup, so I think this may have contributed to her refusal. I've had to buy several different sippy cups, and she likes to drink her water out of 1-2 different types (mostly straw ones), and drinks her juice out of another type of cup (tilt back and drink). With the straw ones, she still sometimes tilts the cup up to drink. Have you tried several different types of sippy cups? Also, it might be more helpful to get someone other than yourself to give her the sippy cup. She's probably not self-weaning, but I don't know for sure. Maybe it's just a nursing strike, but as kids get older and more involved in what's going on around them, they don't like to sit still to drink/eat, etc. Is there any different lotion, soap, perfume or other scents that you may have used recently? Whatever you decide, do what you think is best for you and your daughter! Good luck!

Oh! and I forgot to say that my son is finally getting the tipping of a cup down, but we are skipping past a sippy tipper and moving on to a real cup for this phase. It took awhile, but we made it; he just wasn't ready to progress into tipping glasses back to drink until now (he's 22 mos).

My son didn't take to bottles well either, and when we first tried sippy cups it was a failure until my friend suggested to try a straw cup. Some kids do better learning to suck, rather than learning to tip a cup. We started with watered-down apple juice and found that he took to that easier than milk or water. Once he got the gist of it, I went back to either milk and/or water (i don't like to give him a lot of juice). I was still breastfeeding him during this time. (I didn't fully wean him of breastfeeding until 13 mos.)

He picked up drinking from a straw in a day and had it down in a week. You have to shop around for the straw cups though and find what your child prefers. Some are easier for beginners than others. We went thru 3 brands till we found one just right.
