i picked up some fenugreek today. i was told it would increse my milk supply...anyone know if this stuff works before i start taking it?

Yes, it works. I am an ICU nurse also work 12 hour shifts. I recommend the pills rather than tea. There is much higher concentration of fenugreek in the pills. Good luck and drink lots of water:)

Keep in mind that pump output, frequency of feedings, are not indications of low supply. However, here are some suggestions on how to increase pump output:

Though I realize that some of those might be hard since you're an ER nurse.

well my prob is that i work three 12 hour shifts a week and have to pump at work. I only pump just enough milk to feed my baby for the next day i work and this is very frustrating. i have no back up supply for emergencies or a night out.
when i am home by baby wants to eat every 2 hours! and when i am at work its every 4hrs. i try to pump every 4 hours at work but it hard to get those breaks since i am a nurse in the ER.

Yes, it does work. But make sure you truly have low supply! What are the signs that are making you believe you have low supply?
