So, a little background- I have bred dogs for many years. It is standard knowledge among breeders that you wean the puppies BEFORE you vaccinate. The mothers antibodies will null and void any vaccinations given, this is one reason that good breeders hold on to puppies for at least 8 weeks.

So, why are our children given shots while being breast fed? I asked 3 doctors and 2 got angry, one said he did not know. I know my feelings on vaccination, but I'm not trying to start that debate. Anyone know of any studies done in area? Anyone's doctor ever said anything about it?

I meant her pedi did all types, depending on what the parents chose *smile*

I have actually never heard of this before. But I do know that shots are very controversial among doctors and patients. My daughter's pediatrician did all shots. He said he had a few patients who chose not too have any shots until they were two and he just has to watch them more closely if they gets sick, especially for Meningitis. So we chose to just do 2 of the many shots until she was 2 years. However, I don't really know the answer to your question *smile*
