She was a footling breech - and thanks to an obstetrician who thoroughly checked that she would be able to be born vaginally (pelvic xray, ultrasound measurements of her head), we had her vaginally. Lots of other people said that a caesar is standard practice due to a paper that was published ten or so years ago, but that its methodology was flawed. This paper recommends caesarian for breech deliveries, by the narrowest of margins, but it has come to inform all managements of breech pregnancies, particularly as far as hospital births are concerned. A real shame - I am so happy I was able to have a vaginal delivery (with epidural, to manage the pushing and avoid pushing too hard before the cervix is fully effaced). Our daughter is nearly three months now, and I am feeling great. Congrats to other mums with little breech babies, no matter how they arrived. They are very tolerant little people. Our daughter had a small sternocleomastoid tumour and developmental dysplasia of her right hip, both common conditions for a breech lie, and she soldiered through it all.

My boy was a frank breech. We found out on a Wed, but weren't concerned, bc I had two weeks to go and we thought we would have time to encourage him to turn. Suprise! my water broke the following monday and we had a c-section. Big bummer for a 5lb 13oz babe! but he and I are both healthy, so I focus on that. Also, bc we knew he was breech, I was fortunate not to have to go through labor first, only had 2 contractions.

My daughter was breech. I was oh so lucky enough to enjoy the feeling of her feet and head i nmy ribs. She was upside down and backwards with the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck three times. The sad part is the doctor checked me and didnt notice she was breech, the nurse was the one to feel her butt when she checked me. The doctor didnt believe her, he wanted me to start pushing, so the nurse requested an ultrasound. Sure enough she was butt down, and they did a c section. She came out folded in half

Oh, and Kristy, we had a meconium poo before the membranes ruptured too - a bit scary but she was being monitored and was not too distressed as far as her blood tests went. How are you going after your c-section, and how is your litte bubs?

My bubba was breech. Didn't find out until I was starting to push and he passed meconium (pooed in the womb) and it came straight outta me! They I had to have a c-section. I was so shattered after all those contractions, I really wanted to go naturally.
