My 27m old daughter loves to nurse. She would still nurse like a newborn- every 2 hrs if I let her. She is a great eater and love sot try new foods, so that is not the issue. I am unable to loose the last 30 lbs I gained form my pregnancy and my doctor has warned me about my health problems that are a result of the weight. I have tried it all low cal. lots of excerside so its not that. The only conclusion is that I am one of "those" women who are not fortunate enougth to drop pounds when nursing. I need advice on the best way to wean her from people who have toddlers they have weaned. I have gotten her down to only at nap time, but she is still waking every 2 hrs at night asking for B. And then she screams (while I hold and rock her) until she gives in. this can last for an hour and then back up 2 hrs later. I am physically and metally exhausted. Has anyone else been here? I need real advice-please don't tell me to keep BF her until she is ready- she is not a self wean kind of kiddo. And I do not believe in the cry it out method. I apreciate any advice!

Thanks, That was it, And I'm starting it tonight, They say it's best to start with a day or night, But not to wean both at once, I'm getting a lot of flack from my mom mostly and some family, It is getting hard at night, but as far as in the day time, I still love it and think it's absolutely precious. I'm sure between 6-9 this morning be nursed 6 times, So I am very much looking forward to the night weaning !! Yay !! Good luck to you !

I'm also in the same situation, I have a 2 year old that just turned 2 last Sunday, He is a B boy and it's getting really bad at night, I've weaned him twice, But since we are co sleeping, He is there and we get right back into the same habit. I saw on here a link in a post to a Dr. that had a good night time weaning technique, But I can't find it anywhere. I guess Kellymom site is the best place to find weaning advice. Good Luck !!

read the book or watch the dvd called the happiest toddler on the block by Harvey Karp for help with getting your toddler on a schedule
