What kind of juice?

I am trying to get my almost nine months old to drink some juice. But he has been breastfed so long that he won't take the bottle or the sippy cup. And when he does, and gets a mouthful of juice, he gives me a horrible look. I think it tastes sour to him. How/when did you introduce juice to your child(ren)? What type of juice did you use?

I never used juice, and I wouldn't recommend it. Breastmilk or water is best. Juice is empty calories & bad for teeth. The best way to get vitamin C is from fresh fruit and vegetables.

My daughter is one as of today and I've never given her juice. I work part time, so a few months ago we introduced a sippy cup with water, then with breast milk. I'd rather give her fruit than juice (and she loves fruit!!) Even 100% juice lacks fiber and doesn't really add anything nutritionally.

Juice gives my son diaper rash. I give him water in a sippy cup instead. He got used to a sippy cup around 6 months because he wanted a little bit of water in the hot weather. Also, he would try to drink out of anything he saw me drink out of - water bottle, cup, straw, etc.

I don't do juice. My daughter drinks water. I would prefer she gets her fruit from pieces of fruit instead of juice. Juice has lots of extra sugar. If your baby doesn't want any I wouldn't force it. Just do water.

I waited until my daughter asked for some. This was at about 11 months old.

Juice really is unecessary- there's not too much point in forcing it. Water is fine.
