hi..my son used to take d bottle till he was 2mos old & i dont know what happened but after awhile he jst refused it.( i breastfed him when were home, bottle when were outside).he is exclusively breastfeeding til now.i started giving him a sippy cup(the playtex brand w/ the handles) for his water when he was 4mos & he drinks from it without the stopper under the spout since he doesnt know how to suck from it when the stopper was on.it works fine for him but its jst too"messy" for me coz he'll get all wet when he holds it by himself. im not planning on giving him a bottle for his milk once i wean him from d breast...any suggestions ?

We used the Nuby cups - the 3-in-one ones that came with a bottle nipple, a soft sippy spout, and a straw spout. I never really used the bottle nipple because I didn't want my son weaning to a bottle either. But the soft silicone spout is more like a bottle nipple and is quite easy to suck out of.

They're pretty good as far as being spill-proof, but if baby chews on them a lot, they won'[t be so leakproof anymore.

Now that he's older, we love the Gerber. They are the most leakproof ones we've found.

My baby is now 9 months old and I have also only breastfed her, and planning on going from breast to cup and avoid the bottle stage. I have tried a variety of cups like Gerber, bornfree, no name brands and she prefers the Nuby 3 Stage Wide Neck Feeding System Training Sippy Cup with Nipples and Spouts BPA Free and shes been drinking water with those since she was about 5 months. She wasn't able to suck as first, but as long as she would chew or put her mouth around the spout she would get water, and now she drinks with it no problem. I hope you can find something that works for him with no mess. Good luck
