Just curious at what age you went from straight bf, to adding supplements. What did you supplement with?

Cant wait to hear all of your responses!

Do yuo mean formula? never went near it. Will never either. if you mean food I wasnt aware when I was feeding it was actually a year :( I gave food at 6 months though I held out on wheat, gluten and other allergenics till a past a year. I even got grief for doing that and me a coalic! well i rather look silly for holding back than my son being a coalic to if this helps.

I supplemented my twins when they were first born-losing weight, prematurity. But looking back, I wonder if that was even needed since the hospital wasn't really that great with breastfeeding support.

After things were on track, they were exclusively breastfed until about 8 months when I started solids.

My daughter was exclusively bf until 5 months when I started giving her a little bit of rice cereal as she was having trouble putting on weight. She started drinking water from a sippy cup a few weeks later. Over the next six months she slowly weaned herself off the breast and as she dropped a milk feed I just encouraged her to drink more water and gradually increased her food intake. She is now 13 months and drinks a small amount of cow's milk in the mornings and has a bottle of cow's milk at night as she was ready to wean herself off the breast. Apart from this she only drinks water and she eats 4-5 times a day depending on how hungry she is. We never needed to supplement with formula as I always breastfed 'on demand' and I was very lucky, I breastfed to just over 12 months and my daughter weaned herself gradually over the 12 months so we didn't have any issues : )
