when do you stop counting weeks

I have an ebf daughter who is trying to eat the food off my plate. We want to wait until she is at least 6 months before we offer her table food other than oatmeal and rice from spoon. At what time do you start counting the age by months and not weeks. Example. My daughter was born April 25th. as of this past sunday she was 24 weeks ( 6 months). But, If you count april to may and so on. she won't be 6 months until oct 25th. So how old is my little girl 5 months or 6 months?

i was always told that after 8-9 weeks or relatively two months you start calling them by months weeks is more conducive to the pregnancy portion of the babys early life

Ha! Ha! I have always wondered that too!!! I just count the months. My daughter was born on Dec 13th so the 13th of each month is when I consider her a month older.
