Which is a better formula? Similac or Enfamil?

I am trying to breastfeed but having a problem with milk supply, so I am also giving Similac Advance with Iron, my daughter has this constant pushing, I think the formula is doing this to m baby. Any opinions?

Diana, what makes you think your supply is low? The best way to tell if your baby is getting plenty of milk is to count nappies - if she's having 6 - 8 wet nappies a day she's getting plenty.

The best way to increase your supply is to feed as often as baby wants - it's a supply/demand system - the more the baby demands feeding, the more your supply will increase.

I didn't use either. The carnation formula is what I used. I had a preemie and it was easier on her digestion when my own supply dried up after prolonged time in NICU.

Another way to help with low supply is to pump after every nursing. General recommendations I have seen are to pump for 10 minutes after every time you nurse. You can also pump on one side while nursing on the other - this helps some women whose bodies don't "like" the pump.

I'm guessing your baby is young? The extra iron is probably not good - but in general babies don't digest formula very well, and often don't even like it. The only way to INCREASE your milk supply is to nurse more frequently - every time you give your baby a bottle, and not your breast it tells your body that your baby doesn't need milk at that time, and it will produce less - so nurse even if you think there is nothing there - because it is there :) In 48 hours you will start seeing a difference. Make sure you relax and drink lots of water - but nurse every 1-2 hours if you think you are really low.

What makes you think you have low supply?
