my daughter is 14mos. she went through her whole first year (including flu season!) without getting even so much as a sniffle. she was sick for the first time last week. she was only sick for half a day, whereas the rest of the family was sick for 2 or 3 days!

My son (who is almost 2) has only been sick 3 times in his whole life (gastro once, an upper respiratory bug that lasted a few days, and an ear infection) this despite the fact that my husband and I work in pediatric acute care and are constantly exposed to (and getting sick from) quite nasty germs. He's also super-smart and funny, confident, and he's quite the snuggle bug!! Every time I nurse him I look down at him and think how wonderful it is to be able to give him this, and how soon it will all be over... :( But for right now I'm going to enjoy holding my sweet baby in my arms as often as he needs me!

my son is very strong and healthy. he has never lost weight. he has also been sick only once. he is also extremely bright for his age. he was recently tested and was found to have the intelligence of a two year old (he was 13 months at the time, he's 14 months now)
