If finances allowed, would you stay home or still choose to work?

I am on the road to being able to stay at home with my children and work from home at the same time :o)

I stay at home and LOVE IT! I do have plenty of out of the house activities for the kids and I to keep us connected to the rest of the world.

IDK? Finances would have to be REAL nice for me not to work! Like plenty more then just paying bills!!! One of my biggest issues when I was a SAHM was that I did not have the financial freedom to go on a road trip to see family, or take my son to such and such cuz we didn't have the money. Getting out of the house seemed very necessary for me to try to maintain some form of sanity and not having the ability to do so made things stressful, accompanied by a sudden change in attitude by my husband, and a need to talk to someone that did more then babble all drove me back to work PT. Now w/#2 the finances are not there and this does not bother me that I will have to go back to work sooner, I like working and currently my husband just does not make enough for me to stay home comfortably!

I'd stay at home. My kids are so little - once they are grown and don't need mom so much anymore I would focus more on my career. It's hard to know that someone else is kissing boo boos and experiencing "first time" events with my children while I'm at work. But if I were at home, I'd have to do a "mother's day out" to keep myself sane!

Finances permitting, I would love tp be a SAHM again. Of course, enen when I was a SAHM, I had activities outside of the home- Community choir, church organist/accompanist, accompanist for the local theater (once... huge time commitment) accompanist to local high schoolers competeing at solo ensemble. I loved being home with my kids and don't like the stress of trying to balance all the same responsibilities of a SAHM while working 30+ hours a week.

I believe I would only work part time, although I loved staying home its nice to also have adult communications and relationships.
