Kindergartener not behaving at school.. What to do?

How can I get my son to stop getting in trouble in Kindergarten? He has gotten a check mark almost every day for the past two weeks and it's for stuff like like controlling his talking or keeping his hands and feet to himself. I have tried everything to get him to stop getting in trouble, punishing him, taking his stuff away, even bribing him and I am running out of ideas! Has anyone else dealt with this? If so, how did you deal with it?

What's working right now is when he doesn't get check marks (a bad report) his friend up the street gets to come over and play and when he does he has to tell him that he can't play. He only got 1 check mark all week with that!

So maybe you could continue with that....perhaps start a reward chart? When he has no check marks, reward him with a trip to the pet store or play time with his friend...whatever peaks his interest. Try explaining what you expect from him ahead of time & how the chart will work. The better his behavior...the more fun stuff he will get to do.. might see an improvement. Good Luck!

Did he go to preschool or is this his first experiene with school? If this is his first experience, it may just take him some time to get use tot he rules of school, such as not talking when the teacher/other kids are talking. Also, see if his teacher can give him something to have in his hands to try to help him keep his hands off other people. Things I have used in the past are strips of velcro in his desk that he can touch or a stress ball that he can squeeze to keep his hands busy and off others.

have u tried putting up a game or something and tell them if he's really good after school he can play with it..thats how my son was when he first start we got a game system and if he has a green card he plays... it may take him a little bit to get use to all the new kids and things he can play with
