Need advise on curriculum for a special needs child

Hi. I am a parent of a 4th grader with Asperger's Syndrome (high functioning autism). After a long struggle in public school we decided to homeschool him for academics. I am wondering if anyone else is homeschooling a child with special needs and if so what curriculum they use? Our son is highly gifted in Math & Science while being somewhat behind in Language Arts. So far we have been using several different curriculums pieced together but I am looking to find out if there is a curriculum which would fit him.

Any help/advice would be appreciated.

I'm not dealing with your particular situation, but I know that many homeschoolers use a variety like you are.  Each child, whether 'normal' functioning or not, will have the own strengths, likes, weaknesses, and dislikes.  One of my daughters has trouble with focus.  All of school is hard for her, but especially math.  Now that we've found the brand she works best with, I decided to buy the grade level below her other subjects.  Instead of buying lots of curriculum, find out if there are co-ops or support groups in your area.  Moms are usually willing to let you browse through their supplies.  Curriculum fairs are another place, they usually take place in late spring-summer.  Good luck.
