Post a reply! My 1st is 17 1/2 months from my 2nd, and the 3rd is 3months 9 days younger than the 2nd, and the 4th is is 20 months younger than the 3rd. so I WIN LOL

Wow! My #1 and #2 are 18 months apart and #2 and #3 are 15 months apart! I would have to say that I do like how close they are, as they have become very close and always play together... It also makes it easier that I had all girls. They can all play the same things and be together with everything. I wouldn't change it for the world :) I have to say that some days are harder than others with them being so close in age, but I couldn't amagine them being any closer without me going crazy at times lol! I'm glad to see with everyone that their kids are all healthy and growing even with some of the complications people have had!!!

Deborah - I didn't nurse my two closest girls together... unfortunately I weaned #1 at only 4 1/2 months when I got pregnant again due to lack of information and support. I did continue to nurse #2 through my pregnancy with #3 (they're 19 months apart) and we tandem nursed for 13 months. #2 is now 32 months and just weaned about a week ago. I'm currently pregnant with #4 and plan to nurse #3 until she is at least 2... so we'll be nursing through another pregnancy and tandem nursing for at least 4 months. :)

My goodness ladies, I thought my kids were close! My little ones are 15 months apart and absolutely adore each other. My little boy will be 2 the 1st of March and the baby will be 8 months next week. They are inseperable and never fail to amaze me how good they are together!

I have 13months between my 2 (1 boy 1 girl). I couldn't believe the amount of people who told me when I was pregnant that it would be really hard, and I would never have a break, and that I was mad for planning 2 so close together. However, I haven't had any jealousy issues with Hamish & a new baby (Paige). They play nicely together (after teaching Hamish how to play gentle) & amuse each other. I prefer them close together, a friend of mine has a 3 year gap between her boys & the eldest hates the baby, and keeps trying to hurt him, and reverted back to 'baby' behaviour. I think that because we have had a baby, with another baby, we miss most of this behaviour. I do, however, think that having them so close together, forces our minds to treat the older baby as a 'big boy (or girl)' before they are ready. I have tried so hard not do this, but still find myself doing it, often.

I find that I'm quite proud of my 12 month and 1 day gap... and the fact that I'll be delivering #4 only 4 months after my oldest turns 4. :) It's actually been fun because I have a closer spacing than my mom had (her closest was 12 months 25 days), and she had a 5 year gap between #1 and #4... so it's actually kind of bragging rights around my parents, and also has helped me parent the way I feel I need to. I just remind my mom that she wasn't dealing with this many kids this young, so she was able to do things differently... I do have this many, this close, so I do things a bit different. :)

yeah i agree with roxie lol the small age gap has been nothing but a blessing if i am honest... if i had the choice i would do it again. i think people just assume its harder work but in actual fact i am sure there is not much difference.

Roxie, not sure what the prize should be for...maybe being silly! lol   My kids have a  bit more a gap - but basically I had 3 babies in 2yrs 7mths and all individual births!  Not sure how old your kids are now, but it does get easier as they get older (and start school etc!).

i had my first at 32wks, my waters didnt go or owt i just went into labour - they put this down to sponatious, 38wks later i had my youngest at just 26wks, i was 3cm dilated with her at 23wks, she weighs 2lb half oz. Think she was a twin as i had two "blobs" on all my scans uptil 16wks then i had a bleed.. my youngest will be 2 on saturday, shes still teeny tho. my eldest was 8months too, i mind walking round the ward with my bump when i was on bedrest at 21wks teaching her to walk .. the looks i got! lol

my waters broke at 26 weeks and i had him at 29 weeks my daughter was 5 days late so no real reason why he was so early possibly because i fell pregnant wih him so quickly after i had my daughter. after i had my son due to him being early the placenta was somewhat difficult to remove so i had to have it removed manually under epidural.. i then developed a blood clot in my pelvis and was unable to move for most of the duration with him in scbu.. was defianatly one of the tougher times seeing as my daughter was only 8 months old at the time lol, but now my daughter is 3 coming up for 4 in july and my son will be 3 in the next couple of months so i think i can safely say we are all out of the woods lol, also my sons birth weight was 3lb 3ozs so he had a brilliant weight to give him the start he needed.

i have an 8 month age gap between my 2, had my daughter 13/07/05 then my son was 11 weeks early 22/03/06

[deleted account]

My first two were14 mths apart (boys), then five years after #2 we had #3 ds, then we decided to go ahead for #4 to be close to #3, and dd was born 14mths later. So ds 1 and 2 were 14 mths apart, and ds 3 and dd 1 are 14 mths apart. So far I have to say the second set seems to get along better than the first set. They all love each other, but the boys are very competitive and quick to swing at each other. My husband is staying at home with the second set while I work, so he is learning what I went through with the first two. He has a great appreciation for a clean house now. That doesn't mean we ever have one, though, lol!

Mine are 14 months apart (May 28 2006 and August 2, 2007)  They keep us busy.  We are trying to potty train the first and the second isn't quite 18 months yeat but she wants to use the potty sooooo bad that she screams and cries when she can't come to the bathroom with her brother and I.  I take her along a lot just to keep her happy.  I even have to let her sit on the potty for a while or she has a fit.  I think she will be an early trainer!

U have me beat, my son turned 5 in Sept the twins were 3 in May so that's like 20 months apart then #4 was 13 months later, so at one point we had 4 under the age of 4. But we love it.

You got me beat!  My middle two are 9 months and 16 days apart.  I thought I had them close.  I am sorry your little ones were preemies though.  My 3rd was a preemie or it would have been 11 1/2 months between them!

Thats impressive, Mine are 11 months apart, and compared to having a newborn and a 3.5 year old as i did some years ago, the 2 close together is a breeze!

Well done you x

Mine are 14 months apart i had twin boys almost two months early then we had a little girl 14 months later not the shortest gap....it was hard for a while.  Lots of diaper changes! My twins will be four in two weeks, my daughter will be 3 in April.  They are all best friends and aways ask for the others if they aren't around.  They have two older brothers 12 and 13.  We have a lot of fun around here!

Mine are 11 months apart. It was really rough until just about 4 months ago when my 3rd child turned 1. Now they are all 5, 4, and 16 months. The first two are so easy because they play together so nicely. But they days that they can't get along . . . well, any bridge looks good to me. LOL

I agree that we all need pats on the back and maybe a medal of honor as well. My two are 31/2 and 2 now, just 15 months apart, but that seem like a long time compared to some of you ladies. Well done!

WOW! I just joined this circle of moms, and can say I LIKE! Roxie I definitely think you have everyone beat for shortest gap. My son is now 22 months and my daughter is 2 months so I have a 20 month gap, but I still feel like it's a constant butt wiping going on around the house. My son is very loveable with my daughter, but of course have to watch closely. It's nice to know I'm not the only one out there.

there both doing really well now. my youngest is 2 at the end of the month and shes still a teeny lil thing, shes in 9-12mnt clothing and a size 3 shoe. shes only i think like 32inches tall or something like that. Shes doing really well tho, she not behind in her learning or anything, her speech is coming on in leaps and bounds.

my eldest will be three this year, shes massive in comparison. Shes wearing 4-5yrs clothing at the minute and in a size 7 shoe. Shes a good 10inches bigger than my youngest - nearly as big as my 5yr old neice! Shes very clever and takes everything in, i said to her this morning what is you name? and since then everyone we haev seen she has been asking them what their name is lol

I have an imcompetent cervix which is why i had both prem, i didnt find this out tho until after dd2 was born.
