diapers not absorbing pee

Hi there! My sis has all-in-one pocket diapers, lined with a polyester fleece, waterproof on outside, and a cotton insert. They have been used with two different kids, with diaper cream up the wazoo. She has stripped them many times, and is trying to use them with a new baby boy. They are not absorbing his pee; it just repells and leaks out the leg opening. He is a big boy, so no gapping in the leg openings. The other two babies were girls, if that means anything. Can these diapers be saved? She bought them on tinytush.com.

Also, I use the same diapers with zero issues, but did not need to use much diaper cream with my kids.

I would suggest putting another insert in too, maybe try a hemp one behind the cotton one, but honestly I'd be concerned that the diaper cream has caused the fleece to repel too much. I've always heard that you have ot be very careful when using diaper cream to not use one that will ruin the cloth diapers. We have cut up fleece pieces that we put inside the diaper when we have to use diaper rash cream on our boy, to protect the diapers. At this point, perhaps you can try stripping the diapers or using vinegar or bleach to get the cream residue off? Rockin Green Soap has a great FAQ that might help with this as well: http://rockingreensoap.3dcartstores.com/...

Has she tried putting another insert in it? If not there may just be way too much residue left over from the diaper cream. If I use diaper cream I make sure I don't use my cloth diapers, I either let my daughter get some air time on an old towel or use our backup disposables for a couple hours. It will save your diapers. I've only had to strip my diapers once in 5 months and it's because they were getting a little stinky not losing absorbency.

I have heard that boys pee more at once than girls, so maybe the diapers that were okay for girls aren't for boys? Lol maybe he has monster pee like our boy :)
