How to wash Cloth diapers?

Hello Everyone,

I'm new to this. I just started using cloth diapers, the Bumgenius 4.0. However, the last few times I've wash, they still smell. Do anyone know of any detergent that's best for eliminating the Oder?

as of now, I'm using the Rock detergent...It doesn't seem to be working.

I know loads of people love Rock but it never worked for me. Even HR let a nasty ammonia smell in my diapers - with following their instructions on soaking, stripping and changing from classic to hard. Personally, I use All Free n' Clear HE. I have a front loader so that makes a difference in whats available that I can use and not ruin my motor. Make sure you rinse 1st in cold, 2 full full wash cycles in warm/hot per manufacturers instructions - 1st full cycle with soap and then without. Extra rinse and dry. If they're even a little bit damp (all AIO's are like this) they will smell. Hang to dry on a line outside or in the window if it's too wet. You can use vinegar or baking soda in the wash to help eliminate the smell until you strip the ammonia residue. Good luck!

i second tia- from what i understand, stinky "clean" diapers are the result of detergent buildup- are u using too much detergent?
