New to Denver

Hi everyone! I am new to the Denver area and I have a 13 month old boy, and I am a stay at home mom. We don't really know of much to do during the day, so does anyone have any fun ideas or play groups?

Hi, Alyssa! Welcome to Denver! I live in West Denver, in the foothills. My kids are quite a bit older, but I'm sure I can come up with some ideas. Looking at the other posts, though, it seems like you're getting quite a few ideas already. With spring approaching, I can recommend the Butterfly Pavilion as a fun place my kids always enjoyed as toddlers. Oh...and the Botanical Gardens are fun for toddlers to roam around in during the spring...and for mommies to get some fresh air and simply enjoy a nice afternoon. Again...welcome! I've lived in the Denver area for 15 years, was a stay-at-home mom for 10 of those so know a bit about how to entertain the kiddos. :-)

I am also a SAHM I just moved to Reunion from Denver. A few malls have play areas that are free. My kids love the Childrens museum and I also take them to Broomfield rec they have an awsome play area that is free their pool is great it's like $6. There are a few Gymboree's throughout the area. A lot of recs have programs for kids like gymnastics and mommy and me swimming. Hope that helps

Hi there,

I live in the Frisco/Breckenridge area but recommend the Zoo and Washington Park for Denver activities. We came down last week during the nice weather to see the zoo with our 7 mo old and it was full of moms and kiddos picnicing. I think there are some stroller fitness groups at Wash Park you might join as well to meet other moms! If you haven't been yet it is a huge park with multiple duck ponds and huge open fields. It is really popular. Good luck! I hear the aquarium is great too!

Hey Alyssa,

Some fun things to do would be the Children's Museum, they have a little area for kiddos your son's age and he would be free to get in. Or the aquarium might be interesting for him. I don't know af any play groups however...

Hi Alyssa, I am Winnie. Nice to meet you. I live in the Springs area. We just moved to Colorado in May of 08. How long have you lived in Denver?
