Okay let me start this off my saying my husband lost his job so we dont have insurance at the very moment. (but we are in the process of getting some so dont kill me with comments.) so we went out to dinner with my husband's sister and mother. at first i told them he need to stay in his car seat so he could nap (because he really needed one not just to be a bitch.. okay maybe kinda but he still needed one) and his mother said no i want to hold him so of course my hubby folds and takes him out of the car seat and hands him over. well he had just gotten done with talking about not having insurance so we are being extra careful about not getting him sick. AND they both refused to use the hand sanitizer i had before they held him because "our hands are just fine." AND THEN. his sister Who was just chewing on her nails let him SUCK ON HER FINGER!!!!!!! i was just blown away by this.. and you know what she said!!!! "he pulled it towards his mouth"!!!!!! HES A BABY HE'LL PUT ANYTHING IN HIS MOUTH!!! BUT THAT DOESNT MAKE IT OKAY!!!! god i hate his family.

I would have told them if they won't the sanitizer then they can't hold him. Your husband can't say anything because you tried to give them their way, and you can let him go back to sleep. =) Good luck!

It's ok to be cautious and it's ok to be a protective mommy. Just carry a little hand sanitizer or wipes in your baby bag. Never be afraid to ask people to use it before handling your baby. I understand! :)
