Low milk supply at 4 months?

My son is a little over 4 months. At three months, he slept through the night (about 7 hour stretch) for two weeks. After two weeks, he went back to waking every 2-3 hours again. At first we thought it was a growth spurt, then a cold, but he is still waking every 2-3 hours a month later. On top of all that, he was very fussy today and wanted to feed constantly during the day. When we put him to bed tonight, I nursed him, and he cried when I put him down, which he never does. I fed him some more on the same side, and he continued to cry until I switched him to the other breast. Could it be possible that my milk supply has reduced. He has always fed every 2-3 hours during the day, but is rarely fussy. He has reflux, but has been fine with it since the pediatrician put him on medicine for it.

I don't know why your sweet boy is waking so often, but I do know how to increase milk supply. Fenugreek is an herb you can get at a health food store, or find in "Traditional Medicine Mother's Milk Tea". Eat a healthy snack during one of the night feedings. Try to get a nap during the day, Pump your milk every chance you get. That worked for me. After about 2 weeks I had plenty of milk and stopped the "building routine". Have a beautiful day.

I wish I knew about that herb before. My daughter is a little over 4 months, and since I went back to work at the beginning of Feb she's been getting half formula and have breast milk.I tried to pump everyday at work, but as busy as I get, I wasn't able to until later in the day.Totally killed my supply. And I'm pretty sure I'm dried up because now all she wants is the bottle. She won't even take the breast anymore.=( It sucks cuz I really did enjoy nursing.
