My 13 month old little man has not taken a morning nap for almost 2 weeks, but he is still taking his afternoon nap. I was just wondering if anyone else is experincing this or if they are still taking 2 naps a day.

Aiden sleeps from 8p-7 or 8am, and takes 2 1 to 2 hour naps per day. He is pretty much like clockwork. He will come up to me at 10am and put his head on my knee...same thing for his 2 o'clock nap, and no problems with his night time schedule. (Snack, bath, teeth brushed, snuggle with a book, and bed). I figure he will let me know when he is ready to drop the morning nap. In the meantime, it is a great time to catch up on some housework!

Yesterday he took 2 naps and actually slept all night too. We thought a few weeks ago that he would sleep all night if he took 2 good naps but then he threw that out the window when he started waking again when he was taking 2 naps a day. He has been still getting up at least once a night and he was not nursing then he went back to nursing. We are working on him putting himself to sleep and yesterday he showed me that he can put himself to sleep. Now getting him to do it all the time. He did not get up till almost 830 this morning and now he does not want to take a morning nap again.

My daughter is 12 1/2 months old and she has only taken one nap for quite awhile now... like a month or more. Usually. It's usually a good nap, 2-3 hours. But if she takes a short nap, like an hour, then she'll take 2 naps. But it's usually only one nap a day. She sleeps for about 12 hours each night... straight. It's nice. :)

For me it depends on the day, there are some days where my little one will go without a morning nap, other days we have to have one. If she has a nap, it can be anything from half an hour to an hour and then in the afternoon she sleeps anywhere between an hour and two hours.

My daughter always took a several hour nap every morning, about 1.5 hrs after waking up...every single day. She has a pretty set schedule. in the last few weeks she has started dropping that nap and wanting mroe of an afternoon nap...but for toddlers thats pretty normal. If he is dropping it on his own and still sleeping well at nite I wouldn't worry about it. He could def. be weaning himself too...at this age they should be coming off bottles anways, just offer sippy cups.

My son only takes 1 nap, after lunch, for about 1-2 hours. It depends on how tired he is and how early he woke up. He goes to bed at 8 and gets up between 7-8, but I don't get him out of the crib till 8 unless he's awake and screaming. But usually he just plays and talks to himself when he wakes up and that's what wakes me up. So he sleeps 12-14 hours total and that's about right for this age.

He does not seem tired or grumpy when he does not take the morning nap and when it is time for the afternoon one he climbs up in my lap and goes to sleep. So i know he is ready for it. I was wondering too I have been nursing him and he was nursing about 4 times a day and yesterday he nursed twice then today he has not nursed at all yet. Is it just him self whining him self?

my son has only being having one nap at 12 each day for at least a month, if he isn't getting tiered and he's sleeping well at night and waking at a reasonable time in the morning dont worry, you'll soon know if he isn't getting enough sleep! I found that when my 13 month old starting having just one nap, he started to fall asleep earlier in the evening now he goes to bed at 6pm and gets up at 7.30 am and while my friends are struggling to get that extra nap in and having a nightmare getting the kids down in the evening, I've got a nice quiet night to myself, my opinion would be if he's happy dont worry!!!!

Some mothers very strongly diagree with what im about to say, and i did too before i tried it. My daughter wakes at 6 every morning, we get up she has her breakfast then i give her a sippy cup with milk and let her play for about an hour then she has a bath and another play for about an hour, then about 8 - 8.30 i put her in her cot. For the first few days she just screamed and yelled out to me, so i would leave her for 5 minutes, go in lay her back down and walk away. It was hard to start with but now even if she doesnt sleep she lays in her cot and talks to herself (or her teddy) for about an hour, and when she is ready to get out she calls out to me. If she is really tired she will winge for about 10 minutes then sleep for 1 - 2 hours. I do the same in the afternoon. GOOD LUCK
