Sippy (trainer) cups...

Has anyone tried a sippy cup with their little one? I found one with a nipple and my daughter sucks on it, but doesn't seem to get much out. Just wondering if anyone else has tried it.

I've been using a valveless First Steps cup with my daughter for the last month or so. It's take or toss and looks very plain but seems to work well. She didn't catch on with a valved sippy cup. She is otherwise breastfed.

I use the Nuby three stage feeder(it has a nipple, a sippy part and a straw) Elijah loves it!

I just bought my daughter Aaralyn a Playtex "The First Sipper" sippy yesterday, and she LOVES it! SHe actually drinks better from that then she does a bottle half the time! It has a soft spout so she will chew on it a bit, the only thing we have to work on is getting her to tip it up because she just thinks she can hold it still/down and still get a drink ;)

We have been using one for the last 2 weeks or so and my DD loves it! We have one with a softer spout thing and at first she would just chew on it but she figured out stuff was coming out and got the hang of it! And now if she see it she reaches for it and grabs it and goes straight to her mouth with it : )

My son likes to drink from a real cup. He is always interested in what I am drinking, so if I am having a coffee I get a cup of water for him and he's good. We also have a cup in the bath that he likes to drink from.

I use one with my son.. the spill proof one. He likes it but I don't think he gets too much out of it but I think its just keeping him from getting too much. He likes it its something different.

I don't have one with a nipple, but my son has the playtex one for 4 months and up and he does ok with that one. He likes to take sips out of my cup so he gets the concept of sipping, but with the sippy cup he hasn't realized he needs to turn it up to get the liquid out. And the valve makes it a little hard to get stuff out too. Sometimes I take it out so he can sip instead of suck if he's getting really frustrated. If she's not getting much out through the nipple, you can try making the hole bigger or taking out the valve if it has one.
