How do I EC with a baby who just wants to be on the move

Hi, I am new to this circle. I have two sonse 3y4mo and 10mo. DS1 has been in a combination of CD and disposables and is just now deciding that using the toilet is relevant to him and in more conventional potty training.
I was keen to do at least some EC with DS2 and he had poos that were more easily timed than DS1, when just on breast milk only every 3-4 days and then when he moved onto solids 1x or 2x a day. I have put him on a potty on and off since he was about 3 months old and around 7-8 months I caught most poos and incidental wees. We played singing/clapping games when he sat on the potty and I made a fuss of him to help establish a positive link with the potty.
Now he is crawling and just wants to be on the move the whole time. any sort of diaper changing is an inconvenience at the very least to him and he often resists it all out. he also gets very upset and arches his back, pushing up off his feet if I try sit him on the potty or hold him over the toilet. Seems to be counter to the principles of EC to persist when he is so upset. I have discovered that he is still responding to the cue I thought I did for poos with a wee.
Any ideas for persuading him back onto the potty?
He still loves playing with the potty and standing up against the toilet to play with the seat and lid.

Potty strikes are very common especially when they are learning new things (crawling, walking, etc) Just go with the flow, don't push him. Keep offering potty breaks, but when he arches or refuses, say okay and go on with your day. Don't get frustrated, and don't give up, one day he will start to potty again. Follow your childs lead!
