The thing that helps the pain causes pain.

Mainly this is just a vent, but I want to know if anyone else experiences it. Being on the computer on CoM is good distraction for my pain. I can focus intently enough on things that my pain is secondary, however, the repetitiveness of typing and use of the mouse is causing pain in the muscles of my hands and arms. Do any of you have something that helps with your problem and makes it worse at the same time?

Stress makes it worse. Sex makes it better (yah for endorphins)
Caffeine, don’t know why, but lessens it the pain I experience. I am not suggesting coffee, because that leaves me jittery and agitated. But green tea … I drink about 6 cups a day.
Coffee leaches the calcium from your muscles and bones too, so stay away from that.
Swimming helps, back ground music (distraction) helps too.
Drinking enough water and avoiding sugar (and it goes without saying all atrifical sweetners)
Sugar leaches the nutrients from your body.
I think I am going to like this page. I don’t have another person in my life that deals with pain and long ago gave up attempting to talk with people about it.

Actually Elizabeth I do. Some of my medication is suppose to make my migraines go away. However when you stop taking it, it gives you rebound headaches. So the trick is to never run out but they don't give enough to last the whole month. Insurance you know how that goes. So I feel your frustration.

I've found that when the muscles start spasming, that a sports drink helps. I guess that we are very sensitive to slight changes in electrolytes. How long has your fibro been active? How long did it take to diagnose. I've had mine since '91. I was diagnosed that year. I guess I'm really lucky in that way.
