This is my second baby, I eat right, I work out, and I cannot for the life of me stay in the 25-35 lb "average" for gaining. I'm at 28 lbs already with 71/2 weeks to go, but i'm gaining an average of 2 lbs a week!

How's everyone else doing? Since i'm heavier than average that means there must be some gaining less than 25lbs right?!

This is my second pregnancy (third baby - twins the first time around) and I'm at about 24lbs at 35 weeks. My doc said it was on the high side (assuming i"m going to keep gaining until the baby is born) but she wasn't concerned because everything looks good otherwise. I noticed I haven't gained for a few weeks though, so I don't know how the next few weeks will go. I gained about 40lbs with my twins and lost it all by 3 or 4 months - I think think you are doing fine and unless your doc is concerned just keep doing what you're doing! I think some people just gain more weight than others - and sometimes a lot of it is just fluid.

This is my fifth baby and I gained about the same with each pregnancy. I'm almost 37 weeks and gained about 35 pounds, a lot of fluid though...

Everyone is different my first baby I only gained 15 pounds my second I gained 50 pounds n this time I have gained 28 pounds already n I am only 36 weeks so it's different every time but alot of your weight coiled be from water weight like if u eat alot of salt it can retain water making u gain more weight but I am sure you will lose it I have to work my butt off but I have lost most of the weight the first two times so I am sure I am really going to have to work out this time too but when you are holding that bundle of joy you forget about the rest

Don't worry too much, if your doctor didn't say anything, and its not like a rapid weight gain of 10 lbs in a month...relax:) This is number 5, and I haven't gained any weight for 2 months. I have gained a total of between 18 -1 9 lbs, and I have about 6 -7 wks left. My first baby I gained 18, second 25, third 35, fourth 33....so every pregnancy has been different.

listen everyone is different and i of course know this at being 6"4. when i was pregnant with my first (little girl) i went from being 90-95 kgs to on the day of delivery, being 129.5 kgs. i thought i was huge!!! but i lost most of this right after having her. also it may not be actual fat, it might be fluid retention like i had. hope this helps :D

I totally understand you. I am 34wks and am pregnant with twins. I have only gained 25lbs and both my girls are 4.5lbs each. But my ob n specialist has no concern cause they are doing well n so am I. With my first pregnancy I gained 35lbs. I was not sick with my 1st or this one and eat about the same but have not gained the same as the 1st. But I still have another 6wks left.I do measure at 42wks with my twins. But I am all babies.

Have you been checked for gestational diabetes? How much do women in your family typically gain? That 25-35 pounds is not carved in stone, there are those that gain less and more. How much did you gain with your first? You usually gain a similar amount with each pregnancy. How is your salt intake? Are you carrying a lot of extra water?

You sound right on track, as long as everything else is normal, don't worry...eat healthy snacks through the day, exercise and don't worry!

Wow...I feel really big now! This is my 2nd and I've now gained 50+ pounds at 34 weeks. However, it's going so much easier than my first because I gained 90lbs during that pregnancy! It's like the moment I'm pregnant, I start to show and I just keep gaining and gaining no matter what I do. A lot of it is water weight as I am very swollen. I'm just hoping the weight will come off afterwards!

Was heavier when I got pregnant...decided the second I found out I was going to have a baby, I am not going to be the fat mom that can't keep up with her kids, or rides around Walmart on a scooter with a kid on my lap. I'm eating very well & have gained 13 pounds. I'm in week 32, have gestational diabetes, and am 39. I feel great, the baby is super active and all is going well. I love being pregnant although I am getting to the uncomfortable stage, I'm enjoying every minute of it.

My son was only 7lb 2oz, that was when I'd gained 42lbs, so thankfully I don't think my weight gain affected him at all. This baby, they say is a 'good' size, whatever that means hehe

Haha this is my first baby and I was doing well on the weight gain, then in January my doctor told me I had gained 11 pounds in 4 weeks. I was like "WHAT!??" So I've almost gained 35 all together and I have about 4 weeks left to go. I'm not too worried about it since I don't have much trouble losing weight, I just hope my little man isn't too big :D

I'm 34 weeks and as of my last doc visit 2 weeks ago he had said I only gained 3lbs in 6 weeks and from my visit before he had told me I gained 17 all together! To me that doesn't seem right but he says I'm doing great on my weight even tho I eat everything in sight and feels like it's getting worse, especially on junk food! I go back next friday, so we will see how I've done, but I know I put on more than he said.

I've only gained about 12lbs so far, but by the end of my first pregnancy I had gained 42lbs!!! YIKES!! thankfully I lost half of it before I left the hospital. The drs have never been concerned with my gain last pregnancy or this pregnancy. I was told by them, that provided I was eating the right types of things then that's the most important thing.

Plus, my tummy is about the same right now, 33wks, as it when was 38wks last time.
