Does Fenugreek cause problems with my baby nursing?

I recently put a post, about a debate, whether I was going to be able to breast feed, or go to formula for my 8 month old daughter.
I just thought of the fact that i've been taking fenugreek.
Would Fenugreek, cause fussyness or problems with my daughter, so she would be refusing to nurse?
I've been taking it for about 2 weeks

I am not sure it will make her fussy, but I know it makes the milk taste different and as a fact she might not like it and be fussy because she is hungry. Do you pump to keep up the supply?
Pumping after a feeding makes the supply come in after about a week. Yes, there will be nothing or not much coming when you pump after a feeding, but that is the point, You want to tell the breast to make more within the next few days by adding extra pumping time.

Thank-You. Yeah it actually caused a upset tummy for my daughter. My Dr. even said it can sometimes do that. I got a perscription to take instrad of the herbal medication. Its been smooth sailing since!

Fenugreek made my baby and me super gassy and constipated. I stopped taking it and started Healthy nursing tea which settled our tummies and increased my breast milk supply from one oz to 4 to 5 oz in a session.

Yes I discontinued using the fenugreek, as soon as she was showing signs it wasnt agreeing with her. If you look in the posts above, I have written that I got a perscription from the Dr. and its working great. :)

Fenugreek, if you look on the bottle, if you buy the swiss formula brand it actually calls it a digestive aid. I double checked with the pharmacist before purchasing it, and she said fenugreek is used to help with breast feeding, my aunts a doctor, and i have talked to people about using it in the medical field. They all said it is safe to use while breastfeeding, but you just want to watch for fussyiness or diarhhea. If it does become a problem that's when you do want to switch, but if you have been on it for 2 weeks and your daughter has had no problem at all then the fenugreek shouldn't be a problem. If you've noticed a problem with your daughter since you've been taking the fenugreek, maybe it's time to consider maybe talking to your doctor about the medication you can take for your breast milk production, or switching to formula- whatever works best for your baby first and you.
