I have tried EVERYTHING to start labor! I even had my friend of mine do acupressure on me and that didn't even do anything. I was really hoping for a natural (no-meds) delivery this time, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen. I'm scheduled for an induction tomorrow morning at 7am. I'm afraid of Pitocin. I just hope all goes well and fast. I'm terrified of things ending in a c-section... did any of you have to be induced?
On Monday, I was dilated to a 3 and "thick, but soft" (as the Dr put it.) I've been losing my plug over the last 12 hours, so I'm hoping that's a good sign too... SCARED. Any good experiences you'd like to share with me, please do!!!

Kirra, I hope you can go drug free because you do want that. Just remember that no birth plan will go as planned because things do happen that can cause things to change. I believe that everything happens for a reason. But here is my advice for you. If you plan to go drug free. Remember to breathe. Try to focus on one thing and one thing only and just breathe during contractions. It is so hard to do. Trust me. But it is possible. Relaxing and Breathing are the two things that are going to help you to get through it. Hope all goes well. And if it happens that you have to have a c-section just remember it happened for a reason! Good Luck and let me know what happens!

I'm booked in to be induced on Wed 25th at 5pm. I'm a bit scared but reading your post has put me a little at ease. This is my first baby so I was hoping to go without drugs for labour because I have a high pain tolerance level but when I read that being induced can make it more painful, I got a bit scared. Hopefully I can go drug free.

That's awesome it went so well. My second was born Aug 4th. I was due on the 3rd. I went to the hospital @ 6 pm on the 4th. I was having regular contractions that weren't hurting @ all. But went anyways cause they were regular! I was 3cm/80%. My doctor came in about 7:30- 7:45 and broke my water. around 9pm i felt the urge to push! The nurse checked me and i was 5cm/100%. Like 5 mins later I felt that again. My dr checked me again and i was 10cm. after 3 pushes my daughter was born at 9:10pm. I wasn't fully admitted yet because of how crazy it was so they couldn't give me any meds! I was begging for the epidural. But I'm happy to say I didnt have anything for pain until 11pm the next night. And that was just for muscle pain. I didnt feel like I ever had a baby! At least we both had it easy and med free. Congratulations on your little guy.

I didn't get your response till today, but thanks for responding, Cheryl! The induction went perfectly! When I checked in, I was 3cm and like 20% effaced. Pitocin was started around 9am, water was broken at noon, and baby was born at 1:19! It was insane-- went from 3cm/70% to 10cm/100% in less than an hour! One push and he was out! And I even got my med-free delivery (as far as pain-meds go).. AWESOME. :)))

I HAD TO BE INDUCED WITH MY FIRST CHILD DUE TO LOW FLUID LEVEL! I WASN'T DILATED OR ANYTHING WITH HIM. AND I WAS 41 WEEKS. MY LABOR WAS LONG BUT I WAS ABLE TO DELIVER VAG. I TOO WAS VERY AFRAID OF A C-SECTION BUT I HAVE HEARD AS LONG AS YOUR BODY IS READY THE PITOCIN SHOULD HELP YOU THIN AND DILATE MORE WITHOUT A C-SECTION. JUST HOPE FOR THE BEST. IT WILL ALL WORK OUT THE WAY IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE. GOOD LUCK AND CONGRATULATIONS.
