Nice name Oliver. This name is derived from the French Olivier, which is generally considered to be a form of the Old French olivier (olive tree). Some believe that it may come from German Alfihar, a compound name composed of the elements alf (elf) and hari (army).

I named my daughter, first & middle, for my own reasons, (her dad said it was up to me for a girl, him for a boy). I named her Abbie Lea. I came across the first name in a baby names book, really liked it, but wanted to spell it a bit different. I just felt that if she was a girl, (she was born in 1974, so no ultrasounds then), she wouldn't be a frilly girl, maybe because I wasn't, so it seemed logical. I then picked 'Lea' because in 8th grade a classmate's last name was Lea, I liked the spelling so well that I said if I ever had a girl I would use it. Coincidentally, it went really well with 'Abbie'. (She had a teacher in grade school who got quite angry because she insisted that my daughters "real name" was Abigail & upset when I told her she was incorrect). You know, I think it must run in the family, the reason for naming our girls because when my mother was in school, she read a book about a family whose last name was 'Meredith' and a daughter named 'Ann'. She also said if she ever had a daughter she would name me 'Meredith Ann', and here I am. However, I was born in 1953 and 'Meredith' was not common. I even had a teacher who called me by my last name because she once had a student with that last name. I think it was when I was 10 or 12 that I realized I knew no one had the same name as I did and for a while I really thought I was the only one in the world that had that name. Facebook even gave my parents an 'A-' for originality. So that's my story and now I bet someone is sorry they ever asked this question. (And 'no', my daughter is not a frilly girl, more like the tomboy type, just like her mom.) One more thing, my daughter is the proud mother of 4 girls and I'm proud of that but also proud that I also have 3 great grand daughter's and also a cute as can be grandson from my son & his wife.

I was 14 on my way to school and said if I ever have a boy I'm gunna name him Tayen.. Jst thought it up myself and loved it so much, I've never heard it other than right now lol. But I had a baby girl first and I named her Hayden so I think if I had a boy and named him Tayen that would be very confusing lol

Our little girl's name is Gracen Audrey Marie. Gracen is all her own (at the time we picked it we had never heard of a little girl being named Gracen, despite the somewhat popular "Grayson" for boys), Audrey is the middle name of her paternal grandmother, and Marie is the middle name of her maternal grandmother.

I have five children all born within five-and-a-half years of each other:

When I first became pregnant I struggled on names for my future child A LOT. I wasn't sure which style of names I liked best, and I certainly didn't want to scar my baby for life with a horendous name that I thought was... cute, trendy, etc. that later turned out to be the worst name in history. Ok... maybe I'm exaggerating just a little. I wasn't going to go "celebrity" style and name my child Pilot Inspektor or Apple though, I just wanted something pretty, classy, or unique. In the end my husband and I decided to encorporate unique and pretty and classy into our childrens' names, coming up with these names for our five children (mind you we find their whole names unique, so i'm not going to cover that below):

Violet Everleigh- Violet is classy, Everleigh is pretty

Mila Eleanor- Mila is pretty, Eleanor is classy

Seraphina Aurora- In my opinion, both are pretty and classy

Connor Jace- My son was a different story, because I certainly couldn't give him a "pretty" namme. So I decided on a masculine name: Connor Jace

Adelaide Grace- Both are pretty and classy

***
And there you have it!
