Lately I've been having more bouts of pain around 3 inches below the belly button, my sides, and the sides of my ribs--any one else been feeling this?
I'm just into my 16th week and just had my first ultrasound on the 5th--due january 20-22(they still aren't exactly sure..) with no abnormalities, so I'm not too worried--I think it may be just the uterus growing?
This is my first pregnancy so I have NO clue.
Also...is anyone else already starting to lactate? D: I've already stained two night gowns and three shirts! not to mention two new bras!

My sides around my kidneys hurt sometimes and my belly button, but everything is going fine in my pregnancy. Strong heartbeat and fetal movements, getting stronger every week! And this is also my first!

I have colostrum coming in already and im 18 weeks! But i'm not leaking anything, it only comes out if you squeeze. But definitely invest in the breast pads they are a life saver!

It may be ligament pain as your uterus stretches and your baby grows. If your worried call your dr.
With my first, I lactated early. It's not actual breastmilk but it can start to leak early. Buy breast pads at WalMart and put them in your bra to help collect any leaks! They were my lifesaver.

i had pains like that worse the first pregnancy... it's probably just ligament pain from your uterus growing but it never hurts to tell your doc :)

More than likely it's stretching from your uterus growing. The pain should be short...if it's a continual pain, I'd call your doctor.
Lactating...with my first two I did. You can buy disposable breast pads to protect your clothes (or cloth if you prefer). Just make sure you change them often so you don't get an infection or yeast on your nipple.

It sounds like round ligament stretching. It is nothing to worry about. In fact, with my first pregnancy the pain was so bad that I contacted my midwife. I was doubling over in pain some days. Also, for a week I had horrible stabbing pain in my back which I thought was appendicitious (sp?), but again it was just round ligament pain. My midwife said the more slender you are the more your muscles have to stretch so by default the more pain you feel. Good news is (at least in my case) it is no where near as painful! ;)

And just a suggestion-if you get the pain try laying on your left side and drink a couple big glasses of water. Your dr. will probably tell you about it eventually but it helped a lot when I was pregnant with Madelynn...
Good luck girly and much congrats on the pregnancy!
