Pregnancy and the Chiropractor

My husband went to his new chiropractor yesterday, and he found out that they also perform the service for pregnant women. They have a special table for our bellies and everything. I know that it would help some of the pain and discomfort I'm experiencing, but I've never done it before, and he's never done it pregnant (obviously, right? ;-)).

So have any of you ever had it done? What are you thoughts on it?

I went a couple times a month with my first pregnancy, and I go almost once a week with this pregnancy. In fact, my chiropractor came to my house while I was in labor (I had a home birth), and stayed for hours and gave me a few adjustments. He adjusted my little girl the next day, and I still take her in about once every month or month and a half. I would say if he is reputable, and your husband likes him then ABSOLUTELY! I feel so much better afterwards, and it helps with my pregnancy headaches.

I love my chiropractor. My husband is good friends with our chiropractor and he has even made house calls for me a couple times with the last two pregnancies. And I actually take my kids a day or two after we are released from the hospital. They still go every so often when they start not sleeping well.

It helps me with the pain in my knees (from water retention), in my hips and especially my lower back during the third trimester when I'm starting to get uncomfortable.

Love my chiropractor!! I'd probably be out of work already if it wasn't for her. My ligaments in my hips and pelvis are giving me trouble. There are times I can't move without pain. I go in for a quick alignment and feel instant relief. Which reminds me, I need to make my next appt. Good luck!!

My hubby's going to submit my paperwork--they were nice enough to give him a packet for me to fill out at home--and I'll have my first appt soon! Thanks for all the help!

I didn't see chrio during most of my last pregnancy. He flipped breech during week 37, we tried everything to get him flipped back. the chiro. was just getting to some really tight ligaments when the OB insisted we do a c-section.

I don't know if not seeing the chiro had anything to do with the breech presentation but had I been seeing her I wouldn't have that question in the back of my mind.

I see my chiropractor every 2 weeks. it is fantastic! She knows websters (and yours probably does too if they are that set-up) so that means they will also work on the ligaments that support the uterus. I feel tons of relief after my adjustment.

I highly recommend a chiro. during pregnancy.
