so i'm 28 almost 29 weeks pregnant. and the past two days i have been feeling soooo much pressure on my cervix. this is my 3rd child, and i've never really experienced a feeling like this quite so early. i'm a high risk pregnancy because my last child was 6 weeks early, so they have me on the hp 17 shot once a week to prevent me from going into labor early. the pressure has gotten so bad at times i've had to lay down. i have a dr appt tomorrow morning but is this something that should wait until tomorrow morning or should i get checked out today?????

I am 29 weeks and have had an increase in pressure in the last three weeks. I am high risk as well. My MD said that the baby is low and putting a lot of pressure on me. I am not suppose to be on my feet more than three hours--and its a killer if i am. I am getting to the point that I am getting pressure even with sitting. So I am constantly moving in my seat! My MD also suggested that I get a belly band to help hold my low baby belly up, although I have found this only helpful in the back pain and not the pressure I feel.

I was not early with my daughter (actually, she was 10 days late, the little bugger). But I carried her so low that I always complained to my doc about feeling pressure on my cervix. I'd lost a set of twins before I was pregnant with my daughter, so I was always worried that something was not quite right. In my 3rd tri, it got so bad that it literally felt like she was going to fall out when I walked! (I wish it was that easy! LOL)
So, I know what you mean about "pressure on your cervix" - or at least that's what it felt like to me. However, I am not qualified what-so-ever to give you medical advise. I would rather be in the doc's office every other day bugging them to check me out than the stay home and have something bad happen. Just go with your gut, and don't be afraid to demand medical attention if it will, at the very least, put your mind at ease.

Hi Jessica! I have been having the same problem, I'm also a high risk as i was 6 wks early with my first one. I would say you are probably okay to wait til tomorrow morning unless you are contracting or are leaking fluid. The baby is probably sitting lower than normal since it is your third pregnancy. I have learned to ignore my pressure unless it starts to cause pain then I go in. So far I have been alright, I'm on nefedipine to stop contractions though. I've never heard of HP 17? It is tributaline? I get those shots too, not fun! I hope all turns out okay at the doctor tomorrow! Keep us updated.
