10 month and table food

So my lil guy will be 11months on the 24 of August and a couple of my friends are saying he should be on table food by now. But my son wants nothing to do with table food. I have tried all sorts of things... waffles, noodles, small pieces of chicken, bread, bananas, ect and he just pokes at it then pushes it away. But I dont understand I can give him a biter biscut and hell naw at that thing until its gone. And hes eats his stage 3 food really well. So I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong or if I should hold off a bit longer or when most babies start table foods. Any advice would be great thank you

Thank you ladies very much! I guess I'll just truckin at it and keep introducing stuff and hopefully one day he wont fight with me on it anymore lol. I just wanted to make sure I wasnt doing something wrong. Being a first time parent is kinda nerve racking at times haha.

After reading everyone else's comments, I agree, in his own time. My son is 11 months and he'll try new things, but only a little bit. He's still on stage 2 foods and I supplement with puffs, biter biscuits, cheese puffs, or banana chips so that he is full and that he learns how to feed himself. I worried that maybe he isn't getting full, but honestly, if he wasn't full, he would be crying for more. And I have also noticed that when I eat with him, he'll happily try what I'm eating.

Don't worry, in your little guys own time, he'll be eating everything. Don't stress.

my two were chalk and cheese with table foods. My son (baby no1) was a nightmare and refused everything I tried to give him, he would only eat mashed foods till he was around 15 months, my daughter on the other hand refused mashed foods at around 5 months so she was eating the same as the rest of the family, made meal times so much easier.
Your son will eat table foods when he is ready, till then I would just carry on as you are and keep introducing a piece of bread or banana or something like that to him every now and then, he'll take it eventually

My son will be 11 months tomorrow (17th), he has also been eating table foods for months. I dont you are doing anything wrong, babies all progress at their own rate. I have noticed my little one will do what your son is doing if I offer him a new food, that he's not sure of, a good trick i find is if he sees me eatting something he is definately more willing to try it, it can also take quite a few attempts for him to try something new. But their are other things i'll give him and he'll try straight away, no fuss.

From what Ive read babies start table foods at different stages. My daughter started months ago with no problems, but Ive read on here that some peoples babies wont even eat stage 3 foods, so your son seems to be doing Ok. Does your son put lots of toys etc. in his mouth? Have you tried foods that are mushier, like dollops of mashed potatoes? Its a ton messier, but my daughter was first interested in stuff like that and soft tofu and mashed banana etc.
