Continuous flow of saliva out of my daughter's mouth (nearing 7 mths).

Was wondering whether anyone else is also facing problem of similar kind. Any suggestions how to get rid of the same ? The flow is continuous and her clothes are all drenched in have to use a bib all the time. Is it normal ? And if yes by what time will it stop flowing out of her mouth ?

yup, its completely normal. Average first tooth comes at 7 months. My son has been salivating like this since he was about 2.5 months!

I give my daughter a receiving blanket to chew on. It sooths her gums and absorbs the drool at the same time so no bib is needed and if its bad enough for a bib i only have to use one a day.

Oh yes, teething. Such a wonderful drooling mess. My 6 month old just got his 2nd tooth in about a week ago. The drooling is completely normal. Went through the same thing with my daughter. With her, it seemed that about 2 weeks before a tooth broke through and about a week after she would drool like crazy. Then it seemed to slow down and sometimes stop until the next tooth.

Rashmi... I'm wondering the same thing. My son can soak a bib in under an hour. I keep thinking that this much drooling would cause him to be dehydrated. But he rather enjoys it. I have given him teething rings and a whole bunch of other things. Anything he can fit in his mouth is soaked within 45 minutes to include his stuffed animals. I'm just waiting for it to stop.

Thnx for all your comments! I am a bit relieved. But, does anyone know how long this drooling will go on ? Its quite unpleasant. Especially because she is drooling all over the place. While she is on her tummy the bedsheets are all wet.

My daughter has been doing this also!! Its been since she was like 2.5 months old just now getting more of it and she likes to spit it out. We just keep giving her things to chew on and cold teethers.

3 bibs a day! Oh geez, I'm SOOO glad there are others in the same boat as me. I've started rotating the bibs, I hang the wet ones on his doorknob to dry. lol We constantly have 6 in rotation, not including the ones he wears while eating! The worst part is that for months, my Bub has had a terrible drool rash on his neck where the damp bib sits. Awful. Oh yeah, and no teeth yet. lol

My daughter has been doing it for 3-4 months! She has 2 teeth and still drools like crazy! She goes through atleast 3 bibs a day. It's normal, don't worry!

welcome to full blown teething! Nothing to do but keep those bibs handy (I've gone through several in a day when he's at his worst) & give her things she can chew on to soothe her gums. Good luck!
