Hi, My baby is 9 months old and does not crawl. My other two also started crawling late, but one always wonder if this is "normal"! She is a big baby and loves to sit and play. She is also very relaxed and will only turn on her stomack to fetch somethjing, but not crawl...

My son doesn't crawl either. Im not worried about it though. He sits fine and he does try to crawl, he just can't seem to get it. I think it will just happen, because thats how it usually goes. Please do not worry, your baby will do whatever she wants, whenever. Thats how my son is, he is just taking his sweet time and he has a very relaxed attitude about things so he will crawl wen he is ready. He is quite chunky though, and im wondering if this is an issue with crawling.

I doubt it... because my 9 month old isn't big for his age, but doesn't crawl. Actually, he's started cruising on the furniture. My niece never crawled, she just started walking one day. So I don't think you should worry even if there's no crawling what-so-ever.

My nine month old daughter is not crawling yet either. She can get where ever she wants to by rolling around or scooting along on her bum while sitting up. From the signs, she is not far off crawling but hasn't quite made the connection yet.

My 9 month old was crawling at 5 months but my eldest daughter didnt crawl till she was 9 - 10 months, she was just happy sitting and playing. And just to note, I much preferred this..lol..my youngest daughter was into EVERYTHING and didnt understand the word no, unlike my other daughter who was that little bit older and could understand not to touch certain things.

don't be too concerned, babies become mobile in their own time. My nephew didn't even crawl much, he started crawling just before his first birthday and within weeks he was walking, I also have another niece who started crawling at 10 months....

My little girl is not crawling yet. She wants to and tries to but has not gotten the hang of it yet. I would not worry to much, every baby does it at there own pace.

My guy does a funny "the worm" crawl. He just started that. All babies do milestones at different times and in different ways. All I can say, is treasure that she isn't getting into absolutely everything yet. lol

my son is 9 months too, and not crawling. he just sits and plays, and wines if he falls forward to get a toy. but he seems closer to walking than crawling, he will try to stand alone at times for a few seconds.

Is normal. They do it when they're ready. My daughter will be 9 months next week and just started crawling a few days ago. She doesn't crawl very far yet. She'll crawl to whereever she want to be and then just push herself up again to sit. She has improved though since when she first started.

The first day, she'll crawl a little bit and then slip and lie on her tummy and then pick up a legs to crawl again.

I was worried just like you before. And then suddenly it just happens. And then it seems they've been doing it all along. It's like she learnt how to crawl overnight.

So, I wouldn't worry at all. Trust me. Maybe when you wake up tomorrow, she's crawling already. :)

My daughter just turned 9 months this week and she still wont crawl, shes a big girl too. My son was also a big boy and premature and he crawled at 8 months. They will do it when they are ready and some dont crawl at all, my lil 1 is trying to walk instead.
I dont think the size of the baby makes a difference only that they are little people like us and are all different

My daughter will be 9 months on the 21st and is just starting to sit up. She does show signs but it does worry me. So, I don't even see crawling in the near future...She is very tiny, only about 14 lbs.

Mine doesn't crawl yet either...he's a big guy too. I wonder if there's any correlation between the two?

Hi, My baby is also 9 month, he just turned 9 months yesterday. We went for check up and doctor told me that some babies crawl and some just don't. My baby does not crawl, but he sits and plays firmly, and stands holding on to crib rails. He tries to lift himself up to stand but it is still too difficult for him. Doctor said that is perfectly normal. So DO NOT worry.

both my sons were/are the same. they had quite heavy heads (lol) and found it fustrating to be on their tummys, so they learned to walk along furniture befor they crawled. i always gave them a couple of minutes of tummy time a day but they were happier to sit up and shuffle on their bums than crawl. lol but yes, it is definitely normal. all babies develop different stages at different ages. :D

My daughter is almost 9 months old and not crawling. Every baby reaches milestones at their own rate even if the books say they should already be doing it.

Same here, My daughter still does not crawl. She Stands on all fours and everything but then her butt goes back to the floor. She goes backwards, but not forward. I guess they're just taking their own sweet time... My friend's baby was born the previous day, and she has been crawling since 5 months, so I feel under a lot of pressure. One always wonder if you are doing enough. Especially since I work full day and she is with the Nanny all day. The old guilt trip thing....
